STORM / WASTE WATER PERMITTING AND CONSULTING

Water quality is a growing concern for most Americans, this includes both surface water and ground water. While a relatively few industries/individuals potentially impact groundwater, virtually all industries/individuals have the potential to impact surface waters. Section 301 of the Clean Water Act requires a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) storm water permit for "industrial activities" discharging pollutants to waters of the United States, as defined at 40 CFR 122.2. This includes industrial activities such as landfills and trucking companies, and most construction sites disturbing more than one-acre. Furthermore, waste water treatment plants discharging treated waste water are also regulated.

Since inception of the storm water regulations in 1992 WORLD Environmental professionals have dealt extensively with the EPA and state permitting and enforcement branches to clarify permitting issues and interpretations. WORLD Environmental personnel have been actively permitting industrial facilities throughout the United States under a variety of permitting programs and regulations. Our storm water specialists are well versed in the federal regulations and most state regulations which derive from the federal regulations.
